Architectural hopscotch. Three prologues for a book

Eduardo's latest book has just been published, with texts by Salvador Pérez Arroyo, Ricardo Aroca, Gerardo Ayala and a prologue by Alejandro Bernabeu.

As in Julio Cortázar's homonymous text, this book offers alternative readings depending on the order. The first reason for its publication is the recovery of three texts written as a prologue to another book dedicated to one of Eleuterio Populacion Knappe's masterpieces, the «Beatriz» building. They are three small rubies that decant the experience and knowledge of three important architects in the Spanish panorama of the last third of the 20th century and the first years of the 21st. Each one deserves careful and detailed analysis and can be read independently of the rest of the book. However, it has been wanted to accompany these texts with a slight critical apparatus that explains certain references that the authors take for granted. They also wanted to recover other texts by the author of «Beatriz» –the memory of the project and a review written forty years later– that complete a kaleidoscopic look at the recent history of Spanish architecture through one of his key works and, not However, relatively neglected by specialized critics.
