Conference on teaching innovation in architecture JIDA'18

The Group for Innovation and Teaching Logistics in Architecture (GILDA) organizes, in collaboration with the Institute of Education Sciences (ICE-UPC), the sixth Conference on Teaching Innovation in Architecture (JIDA'18), which will take place on November 22 and 23, 2018 at the EINA School of Engineering and Architecture. They collaborate: the School of Engineering and Architecture of the University of Zaragoza, the magazine ZARCH, the Official College of Architects of Aragon (COAA) and the Arquia Foundation.

The JIDA 2018 pose a question of substance: the particularities of teaching practices in emerging schools, that is, centers born in the last two decades and of medium or small size. As Luigi Paryson argues: "there is no innovation without tradition", that is, that any reference to the past is necessary to build the future. In the case of schools with a long history, the weight of this tradition may lead to new teaching experiences, or the incursion of alternative pedagogical lines to those cultivated for decades. The need to create a profile of their own, or the mixture of diverse teachers in the construction of new schools, can help in the construction of alternative ways of proposing the formation of the architect, not necessarily new, but perhaps less developed in the most important schools. consolidated.

Eduardo will be part of the Organizing Committee.
